About “The Sinatras”
The Sinatras was founded in February 2018 at the American University in Cairo.
The band performs Frank Sinatra's songs to praise his memory, other similar artists pieces and jazz tunes from the same period between 1940-1960, the band was rapidly recognized once it was formed and it was able to stand out and make a large fan base in a short period of time.
The group participated in many international musical events, The most important of these was their participation in the 10th edition of the Cairo International Jazz Festival on the 13th of October 2018, which was held at the American University in Cairo and was participated by many of the best musicians in the world from 14 different countries,
On December 11th, the band performed the closing ceremony of the 15th Alexandria International Song Festival, which was held at the Opera House of Alexandria at Sayed Darwish Theater under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of tourism.
Band members :
Gabriel (Gaby) Bishara - Vocal
A jazz and opera singer studying commerce at the American University in Cairo, he began singing five years ago when he entered university. Since then, he has been known by the Egyptian Frank Sinatra because of his similarity to Frank's voice.
Mohanad Arrab - Electric guitar and Bass guitar
A creative self-taught musician who studies music composition and jazz from various sources, he also teaches private lessons in music and guitar, he is currently writing his own music and has released a demo version of one of his songs called "My Bittersweet Dream"
Omar Hisham -Piano
Started learning the piano at the age of 10 with Professor Martin Hrsel in Abu Dhabi. Currently, he studies Bachelor of Piano Performance at the Cairo Conservatory. He has performed in several concerts at the Cairo Opera House,
The American University in Cairo (AUC), Al Gomhoreya Theater in addition to concerts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. He has performed with the Cairo Conservatory orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra in the UAE. He has won several competitions which allowed him to travel to Paris and Poland. He also studies engineering at AUC.
Micheal Hany - Saxophone
a classical and jazz saxophonist who started studying at the Cairo Conservatory in 2012 as a clarinet player and obtained the music diploma from the conservatory in 2017. he participated as a saxophone player in The Cairo Symphony Orchestra in 2018 and got a diploma in classical music performing as a clarinet player from Baku, Azerbaijan. in the same year, he participated in Generation Jazz Festival Frauenfeld, Switzerland, and Jazz Tales Festival in its first edition with Boghdady Big Band as an alto sax player, he is also the main sax player in Brass Sound Band which is the biggest marching band in Egypt and performed with them in many places all around the country.
Saif Nasser - Drums
A self-taught drummer who has always been passionate about all kinds of music. He has participated in many concerts and shows including the opening ceremonies of Cairokee and the artist Mohammad Hamaki.
