بدأت سمر مشروعها الموسيقي بتجارب غنائية، حيث علّمت نفسها عزف آلة الجيتار والعود، وقدّمت حفلات في أماكن ثقافية وفنية كثيرة، وكتبت بعض الأغاني لبعض الفرق المحلية والفنانين المستقلين.

تعرّف عليها جمهور أوسع في مصر حيث قدّمت أحد أغانيها ال الأشهر ""داير يدور"". منذ وجودها في القاهرة بدأت في الاشتباك مع المشهد الموسيقي وفي بناء قدراتها كموسيقية حيث قامت بأول توزيعي لأغانيها ""احتياج للفقد"" و ""دبل البستان""."

Samar Tarik is an independent singer/song writer from Egypt, who got hundreds of thousands of plays on different platforms for her original music, she started playing the guitar -her main musical instrument- on the age of 12, her music relies heavily on it. playing western chords while keeping an oriental tone when singing is Samar's unique mixture that sets her apart from other singers and music makers.
